About this hotel

Narada Resort & Spa Qingdao, Jimo sits on Wanshugong Street in Jimo Ancient City, about 9 km from Jimobei Railway Station and 42 km from Qingdao Jiaodong Airport — a resort hotel right inside a historic quarter.

The lobby is lavish, surrounded by beautiful scenery and old-town atmosphere. The hotel offers a free photo session in traditional costumes with a stylist and photographer, and guests specifically note the design is made for Instagram-worthy shots. Breakfast is varied and includes local specialties, with free parking and free entry to the old town for guests.

Who it's for: families with children and couples who want to combine a stay with exploring Jimo Ancient City and a free costumed photo shoot.

According to several reviews, front-desk service isn't always warm — there are serious complaints about indifferent, impatient managers at check-in, especially during busy periods like the May holidays. There are also isolated mentions of a thin breakfast selection and cracks in a room's floor. The location right inside the scenic district remains the hotel's main and near-unconditional strength.

The hotel is in the ancient city of Jimo, surrounded by beautiful scenery, and the lobby is simply lavish. Breakfasts are very varied, and there's plenty of parking. You can also get beautiful photos taken in traditional costumes. Great for a family trip with kids.

This is the best hotel in Jimo! It's very convenient to reach both restaurants outside the city and sights in the old town. Service is top-notch, and there are also traditional craft workshops. The whole hotel's design is perfect for influencer-style photos, and old-style costume photos look very harmonious. Breakfast at the hotel is excellent quality and varied, with the chance to try local specialties. Overall, top marks!

The room is clean and tidy, staff are polite and attentive, breakfast is varied. Once again we enjoyed the calm, peaceful atmosphere that lets you fully take in the endless beauty of this fairy-tale ancient town, whether you're an early riser or a night owl...

Not my first stay here. The hotel staff are very friendly and welcoming. Excellent value for money, rooms are very clean. Free parking and free entry to the old town. Breakfast is varied, it almost feels like you're in a tropical forest.

What they complained about

The underground parking was hard to find. We took the elevator up to the second floor to check in. With luggage and a child, the receptionist — name omitted — stood right there watching us check in while we sat on our phones. Were we the customers, or was she? Not only was there a line for check-in, she didn't ask us a single question in advance. We just waited, while the receptionist laughed at something on her phone. I assume she's a mother too; doesn't she understand what it's like to travel with a child? Is the receptionist's idea of service really that low? Don't they even ask guests how they're doing at check-in? By the elevator, a woman saw us with our bags and child and helped carry our luggage to the lobby. The next day I overheard the receptionist complaining about some guest in another room. Isn't that disrespectful toward guests? People in service judge customers indiscriminately. Even without any direct interaction, I came away with the impression that the hotel wasn't friendly. Maybe they saw us as difficult because of the child and the amount of luggage, so they didn't help. I'd read reviews beforehand; the front-desk manager's attitude was described as terrible, with no training or service mindset at all. At checkout, when foreign guests who didn't know how to book a taxi and clearly wanted good reviews needed help, the manager patiently dealt with them and even asked how their stay was. But when Chinese guests checked out and collected their luggage, the manager ignored them completely, staring at her phone the whole time. One of the managers even opened a door next to reception and went inside after helping the foreign guests. Is that discrimination against Chinese guests? Or are good reviews from foreigners simply worth more? The manager's motives are pretty obvious; they only care about good reviews from foreign guests and completely disregard the experience of Chinese guests. For such a large hotel, the front-desk manager's work quality is extremely poor. Guests spent hundreds of yuan here and didn't get the service they deserved. The manager even complained about them being too demanding. Doesn't she stay in other hotels herself? I didn't get a clear look at the name badge; it didn't look like a real name. I only saw that the English name started with "Mi". The hotel's equipment is too old. The TV doesn't work, the air conditioning doesn't auto-adjust, and there's mold on the walls. In the mornings a group of people were making a lot of noise, which was very disruptive for families with children. The breakfast atmosphere was decent, which sharply contrasted with the front-desk manager's service. I wonder if they'll ever improve their service quality. I've seen a lot of negative reviews about poor service, and the hotel seems indifferent. No signs of improvement.
