About this hotel

The International Trade City, Yiwu – Marriott Executive Apartments sits on Futian Road right by International Trade Center metro station, with Futian Wetland Park, the Yiwu Museum and the Bolan Exhibition Centre all close by.

The format here is spacious apartments rather than standard hotel rooms — think an ironing board, a small kitchenette in the entryway, and an individual spa bath right in the room, plus a generous breakfast buffet. Families who come back are sometimes surprised with small gifts at check-in, a touch repeat guests really appreciate.

Who it suits: families and couples who want room to spread out — a proper apartment with a kitchen and a soaking tub rather than a cookie-cutter hotel room — with a location handy for business trips near the trade centre.

Opinions split hard here. Alongside praise for the space and breakfast sit some serious hygiene complaints: a dirty carpet, an unpleasant smell in the bathroom on certain floors, unwashed dishes, a broken scale. In the family rooms, the wall between the bedroom and the toilet is sometimes tinted glass with no curtain — worth asking about in advance if you're not travelling as a couple. Given how much the reviews disagree, it's worth checking the most recent ones before booking.

A really unpleasant stay. My son and I booked one of the apartments (since they're quite spacious), but to my horror the toilet wall turned out to be tinted glass with no curtain at all. I mentioned it and was told that's just how it's designed. On top of that, the cups weren't washed during cleaning, the electronic scale was broken, and the shampoo was very poor quality. Overall, I won't be staying here again. If you're not travelling as a couple, think hard before booking this room — everything that happens in the bathroom is fully visible.

Everything suited us — a spacious room with a good set of amenities, including an ironing board. There's a small kitchenette by the entrance and an individual spa bath right in the room. Good, varied breakfast buffet.

Great hotel, this isn't my first stay. Nice touch this time — since I was travelling with my daughter, she was given lots of little gifts and was thrilled. Breakfast on the 1st floor is excellent.

The receptionist, Doris, was very welcoming. I'll definitely stay here again next time.

What they complained about

The price is outrageous for what you get — priced like a five-star hotel, but the amenities are worse than a three-star. I have to complain: the renovation is very dated, and you have to walk through a narrow corridor to reach the lift.
