Expo Center Hotel 5*: By the Yiwu Exhibition Centre, a Lake View and a Pool

The decor is very dated, and there is a large crack in the washbasin. The lighting in the room is extremely dim—even with all the lights on, it's so dark that I couldn't find things in my bag. To highlight the main issue: the service is exceptionally poor. First of all, during check-in, only one counter was open. When I asked the front desk if they could open another one, they just told me to wait, even though a long queue was forming behind me. Secondly, the hotel's Wi-Fi was terrible. When I called the front desk, they actually told me to use my own mobile data, which is ridiculous. Overall, it was a very bad experience. I've stayed at many hotels in Yiwu, and this is by far the worst service combined with the highest price.

The room had a really strong, musty smell that wouldn't go away even with the AC on for a long time. The shower curtain had severe mold stains, and the toothbrush was really poor quality, shedding bristles badly. The AC vent was heavily covered in dust, and the AC itself was incredibly noisy. I forgot to take pictures, but it was truly awful. I'd definitely advise against staying here.

Breakfast wasn't very good! The suite was excellent, though.

The staff aren't particularly nice to Chinese people. They might treat Westerners more kindly.

Very average. The service was terrible. The doorman completely ignored me; when my taxi arrived, he didn't open the door but just stood there. Breakfast was a complete mess, and the tables weren't even clean. I called to ask for a late check-out because the hotel advertised late check-out for marathon guests, and the front desk just said, "Oh." My impression was that the hotel staff didn't seem to care much about their work and lacked any service awareness. Unlike the reviews that said the service was great, it was basically like nobody paid any attention to me.

First, the toilet leaked while I was showering, and I almost slipped and fell. Despite the separate wet and dry areas, they only provided disposable toothbrushes and toothpaste; no combs or shower caps were provided. Even with the air conditioning on the lowest setting, it was still too hot to stand up. The showerhead couldn't be secured, so I had to hold it with one hand while showering. The room's cleanliness was so-so; there was hair near the kettle.

The hotel next to the exhibition center has been open for several years. Overall, it's alright. The breakfast selection is quite extensive, and the service is acceptable.

The hotel looked quite upscale, but one design element was baffling. I called the front desk to ask where the bathroom exhaust fan was, and they told me the hotel didn't have one. They offered a small electric fan, but were they going to blow it into the room? 😓 Upon arriving at the hotel, I learned that the pipes were being cleaned at night, and there would be no hot water after midnight. Why weren't they notified earlier when I booked? I could have chosen not to come, but since I was already there, changing my mind was very inconvenient, so I reluctantly checked in. A very unpleasant stay.
