Vietnam is stretched 1,600 km from north to south — and that is its strength: in a single trip the climate, cuisine and landscapes change. The rocks of Ha Long Bay, lantern-lit Hoi An, the coffee mountains of Dalat and the canals of the Mekong Delta — the route turns out very rich.
It is convenient to get around by night trains and sleeper buses, and between the ends of the country by cheap flights. Prices are among the lowest in the region, and Vietnamese coffee and street food (pho, banh mi) are a separate reason to come.
Why independently
- The most for the budget. Accommodation, food and transport are inexpensive — you can travel for a long time.
- Contrasts in one trip. North and south are like two different countries.
- Living authenticity. Markets at dawn, mountain-people villages, cafés on plastic stools.
There is no single season: the north is better in autumn and spring, the center from February to August, the south is dry from November to April.
