About this hotel

Jingshang Hotel is a cozy three-star property near Dongzhimen (Chaoyang District) with excellent transport links — easy access to both the business district and the city's main sights. It's a solid trade-off between price, cleanliness, and location that works well for solo trips and families alike.

Guests like the combination of clean, comfortable rooms and friendly, English-speaking staff — communication is easy. One nice tech touch is a delivery robot that brings food straight to your room. There's a restaurant, bar, and fitness center, plus parking and free Wi-Fi. For the price, it's a solid, tidy option in a genuinely convenient location.

Who it's for: travelers who care more about location and price than space or five-star status; a good fit for business trips and short visits.

Worth knowing in advance: some rooms are compact or have no window at all, so check the room type carefully when booking. The hotel is new, and a few rooms still carry a fresh-renovation smell — ask for a room that's been aired out. There's only one elevator, so expect queues at peak times, and the restaurant menu is limited.

The room was cozy and comfortable. I was very happy with the stay and the surroundings during my solo trip. The food delivery robot was really handy, and the staff were very friendly. I highly recommend this place! I'll definitely choose it again next time I'm in Beijing. Great value for money!

Both the hardware and the software were excellent, and the support staff were good too; I was quite satisfied overall. Except for the bathroom — the designer doesn't seem to have thought it through as a place to actually shower. If they want, I can share my suggestions.

What they complained about

I arrived at the hotel around 17:40 on June 24, having booked two nights. On arrival I found the room had no windows. Maybe because I hadn't read the booking terms carefully, the room cost almost 500 yuan a night — so expensive, and without a window too, that I couldn't accept it. I negotiated with the front desk, offering to switch to a room with a window and pay the difference. A room with a window cost only 30 yuan more than one without. However, they refused, saying there were no rooms available that night or the next. I'd seen various room types on the Ctrip website, and realizing they weren't happy about it, I switched to a different hotel. But on the evening of the 25th, I booked and checked into the same hotel again, into a room with a window, which confirmed my original assessment. They still refused to change my room and effectively forced me to leave — I genuinely don't understand it! On the morning of the 26th, I ran into the same staff again. I'd booked a room with breakfast, but the front desk was crowded and I may not have been given a receipt. I was questioned repeatedly — I was honestly stunned! I chose this hotel because it was close to my workplace and relatively new. However, it had several drawbacks: the rooms were small, you had to squeeze sideways to get between the TV and the bed; the glass bathroom door opened onto the corridor, making it easy to get things wet and dirty; the desk was small; and the toiletries were very dusty, possibly because of the strong winds and sandstorms in the north. On top of that, the hotel had only one elevator, leading to long queues at peak times, and the restaurant had a very limited menu.
