Singapore is a city-state where the Gardens by the Bay grow next to skyscrapers, and hawker centers with street food operate next to Marina Bay Sands. It is easy to walk from the Asian Civilisations Museum to the embankment here, and the metro will take you almost anywhere. A trip to Singapore works both as an independent stop and as a layover on the way to the south of Asia.
An independent trip to Singapore is simpler than to most countries of the region: English, understandable transport and safe streets. Sentosa island is for beaches and attractions, Chinatown and Little India for food and color.
Why independently
- Compactness. The main places are a few metro stops from each other.
- Flexibility. You can fit the city into 2–3 days between flights or stay for a week.
- Food. Hawker centers and street stalls are a separate reason to come.
When is it best to go
Singapore is warm and humid year-round. There is less rain from February to April and in July–August; November–January is wetter. The heat outdoors is always noticeable, so the program is built around air-conditioned places by day.
Visa and entry
The entry conditions for Russians and the electronic arrival card need checking on the official website of Singapore's immigration service before the trip.
