Waterbom Bali Water Park in Kuta: tickets, hours and slides

Waterbom Bali is the island’s largest water park, in the Tuban area, a stone’s throw from Kuta beach. It is searched for with queries such as “Waterbom Bali tickets”, “Bali water park Kuta”, “Waterbom opening hours” and “Waterbom Bali price”. The park has been open since 1993 and sits on a tropical site with green avenues, so you can rest between the slides in the shade.

Hours, tickets and how not to lose time in queues

The park is open daily from 9:00 to 18:00, with entry ending at 17:00. Day tickets can be bought in advance online in the catalogue below and paid for by Russian card in roubles: at the entrance you simply show the QR code and skip the ticket-office queue. The longest queues for the slides start after 11:00 and especially at weekends; the ideal time is opening and the last two hours, when families leave for lunch. For the biggest slides the queues grow around noon.

How to get there from Kuta, Seminyak and the airport

• From Kuta and Legian. On foot or 5–10 minutes by taxi.
• From the airport. About 15–20 minutes, which is handy on the day of departure if your flight is in the evening: you can leave luggage at the hotel and swim.
• From Seminyak and Canggu. 30–50 minutes by car, longer at rush hour.

What is inside: slides, a river and relaxation areas

The park is famous for its giant slides: Climax (the fastest, with an almost vertical drop), Constrictor, Smashdown, Down Under and Boomerang. In all there are twelve slides, one of which reaches about 70 kilometres an hour. For quiet relaxation there is a lazy river with tropical banks, pools, a children’s area and shaded gazebos. You can rent a cabana — a separate gazebo with hammocks. There is food on the grounds, but prices are higher than outside the park; bringing your own food in is not allowed.

How to spend the day with children and without

With little ones, start with the children’s area and the lazy river before the slides build up a queue, and take a lunch break in the shade at about 12:00. Teenagers and adults are better off going straight to the big slides: while there are few people, each takes a few minutes, but by noon the same one means half an hour’s wait. Bring small change for the locker and sunscreen that does not wash off in water: the sun in Bali is harsh even on a cloudy day. If you plan an evening flight, leave your suitcase at the hotel and plan a shower and dry clothes after the park: you will have to change in the changing rooms on the grounds. For groups of friends, renting a cabana for the day suits: you can put your things there and rest between rides.

Restrictions and tips

• Clothing. A swimsuit or trunks are compulsory. Jeans and shorts with pockets are not allowed on the slides. For the lazy river, flip-flops and sunscreen will come in handy.
• Restrictions. The slides have minimum height and age limits; children without accompanying adults are not let in. The big slides are not recommended for pregnant women and people with back problems.
• Belongings. It is better to leave valuables at the hotel; the park has lockers, and towels can be rented.
• Drones and cameras. Drones are banned. An action camera is fine, but without a selfie stick on the slides.
• Weather. In a thunderstorm the slides are closed. The dry season (April–October) is better, though in the rainy season there are fewer people.
• Passport. Not needed at the entrance.
