Vinpearl Nha Trang on Hon Tre Island: tickets, hours and the cable car

Vinpearl Nha Trang (Vinpearl Land) is a theme park on Hon Tre Island, ten minutes from the centre by water. Tickets, hours and how not to stand in a queue

The park works from about 8:30 to 20:00; in summer and on holidays it is sometimes longer. The standard ticket usually includes both the journey to the island (the cable car or a boat) and entry to the main rides and the water park, but extra games and food are paid for separately. You can book online tickets in roubles payable by Russian card in the catalogue below and show the QR code at the station.

The most people gather at the cable car from 9 to 11 in the morning and at weekends. Arrive for 8:30, while there are no boarding queues, and go straight to the water park and to those slides where there is usually a crush by noon. In the evening after 17 hours the flow goes back to the mainland: choose the boat if the cable car has a long queue.

How to get to Hon Tre Island

• The cable car. The lower station is on the mainland north of the centre of Nha Trang, about 10–15 minutes by taxi or Grab. You fly over the bay for about ten minutes, and at night the pylons are lit. The cable car is more than three kilometres long.
• The boat. Speedboats leave from the Vinpearl Harbour pier and are quicker than the cable car if there is a queue at the station. The timetable changes by season.
• With an excursion. Group tours include both the journey and entry: convenient if you do not want to deal with tickets and queues.

What is where on the island

The park is divided into zones: the Fun Park with slides and the Vinpearl Farm, a water park with a wave pool and slides, an underwater world (an aquarium with a tunnel), gardens and a white-sand beach. In the evening a musical fountain is switched on, and nearby, if you wish, you can go to the I-Resort mineral springs if you want a quiet day. If the sea is stormy, entry to the water park may be closed, so have a back-up plan with indoor attractions. The island belongs to the Vinpearl complex: resort hotels stand here too, which is convenient for those who want to stay the night.

How to plan the day

The best order: in the morning the boat or cable car, then straight to the water park before the groups arrive. In the heat, from 12 to 15 hours, move to the aquarium and the indoor attractions, and towards evening return to the beach and the fountain. Have lunch inside the park: the prices in the park’s restaurants are higher than in the city, but leaving through the gates is awkward. If you are with children, bring a pushchair and do not leave the water park zone without a change of clothes. Leave the island before 19 hours: by evening there is a queue at the cable car again, and at the end of the day there is also tiredness.

Restrictions and tips

• Clothing. The water park requires a swimsuit or trunks; jeans and shorts with pockets are not allowed. Bring a change of clothes, a towel and slippers.
• What is not allowed. Drones are banned. You may not bring alcohol and food onto the grounds, and cameras with a large lens are better left behind.
• Children. Many slides have height and age restrictions; a child’s height is checked at the entrance to the zone. The play areas and the aquarium suit little ones.
• Weather. The best time is January to August. From September to December it rains and is stormy in Nha Trang, and the cable car sometimes closes.
• Passport. Not asked for at the entrance; the document is needed for booking a tour.
• Cream and water. The sun is harsh and there is little shade in the queues: bring cream, a hat and water.
