About this hotel

Four Seasons Hotel Macao is set in Cotai, about 3 km from Macau International Airport, near Cotai East light rail station and within easy reach of teamLab SuperNature Macao and Studio City Water Park.

Staff attention to detail stands out — a duty manager may take off their shoes before entering your room, a real mark of respect for guests — plus a welcome fruit plate and capsule coffee in the room, and direct indoor access to the neighbouring malls without ever stepping outside.

Who it suits: travellers who want the classic, understated luxury of the Four Seasons brand with direct access to Cotai's shopping malls.

An honest note: the property isn't the newest, and it shows — several serious reviews mention a musty smell in the corridors, dated in-room fittings (no USB-C), and an inflexible turndown schedule. It's worth asking about the last refurbishment date when booking.

Fabulous service — the staff are very attentive and act on requests instantly. Pool service is excellent too.

The room felt fresh, no musty smell, good air quality. Staff were responsive, genuine and had a great attitude. There was a welcome fruit plate, capsule coffee, and the mineral water was especially good.

The staff are extremely welcoming and professional, from the doorman right through to the front desk — everyone is courteous. After check-in, the duty manager walked us to our room and gave us a short tour. What really stood out was that he took off his shoes before entering the room, which speaks to a real level of professionalism. Very few hotels today can claim that kind of standard.

Standard room layout, as you'd expect from an older property. The egg rolls served were soft and bland, and the corridor smelled musty. The pool was excellent, and the service outdid every other luxury hotel in Macau!

The service at the hotel was very attentive — staff were proactive, asked about our needs and paid attention to every little detail. Macarons with local Macau specialties were brought to the room. The key card design is very stylish, the kind you could keep as a souvenir. The location is convenient — you can reach a number of shopping malls without ever going outside.

What they complained about

Terrible service! Staff don't communicate with each other across shift changes. For the first time in years I came across a hotel that doesn't turn down the bed at night. When I raised it, I was told the hotel has its own schedule and beds get turned down at 9:30 pm. Unbelievable! And after that their attitude was simply awful. This hotel isn't even part of the Mandarin Oriental's global management system. Choose this hotel with caution!
