Pros: Amazing views of Mt. Fuji, free access to the public hot spring, and a spacious room. Cons: The cleanliness could be improved. For guests arriving later for breakfast, some food items were not refilled after they had run out. The air conditioning mode also could not be adjusted by guests.

The drain in the shower room was clogged. The location was good. The curtains weren't blackout curtains, so it was bright in the morning even with the curtains closed.

The building is quite old and has an odor; the initial impression upon entering the room is not pleasant. It's clear they've tried to restore it, but unfortunately, the fabric chairs in the room are somewhat worn. The location is rather remote, making it better suited for those traveling by car. There is a public hot spring. The lobby closes after 11 PM, so it's not very convenient for travelers who want to drive around outside.

The staff called only once, said no cars were available, and told me to use Uber. Being a first-time visitor, I tried my best to use the app and managed to get one car. However, we had large suitcases and needed two cars. Hostile Attitude: I went back to the lobby to ask them to try other taxi companies. The staff refused to even try calling, claiming no taxis operated at that hour. When I questioned their lack of assistance, the receptionist snapped at me with an unfriendly tone and a sarcastic remark: "Well, I am serving you right now." The Contrast: We eventually dragged our heavy luggage 500 meters down a slope to a 7-Eleven. The staff there were incredibly helpful and made a phone call; a taxi arrived in just 10 minutes. It became clear that the hotel staff simply didn't care to help. It is shameful that a high-priced hotel provides worse assistance than a local convenience store. The lack of empathy and the rude remarks were the final straw. Totally overpriced for such terrible service. The location isn't ideal; there's practically nothing nearby, and with such a location, there can be problems, especially in the evenings and mornings. The reception and housekeeping detract from the overall impression of the hotel. Guests before us were sternly told check-in was at 4:00 PM, pointed to a sign, and told to wait. It was 3:30 or 3:40 PM. I would understand if they actually cleaned the rooms, but ours wasn't ready until 4:00 PM. It's unclear why they adhere to such standards. Furthermore, it can't really be called cleaning—hair from previous guests or staff was everywhere: in the bathroom, on the sink, on the bed. There was a safe on the floor in the hallway, but they hadn't even wiped it down; it was covered in dust and hair. It begs the question: is it really impossible to get a room properly cleaned in six hours? And the check-out call was made at 10:00 AM sharp. The reception staff also seem unwilling to help (especially the non-Japanese). But there are a lot of robes. The onsen is quite small.

I recently stayed at the Gran Princess hotel in Kawaguchiko. I would say our stay was not the best. The reviews looked great online and price was attractive which made us book it. However, the rooms are extremely old. Vintage carpets, terrible beds and mattresses and very dull and dimly lit rooms. The only good part about the room was the view of Mount Fuji. Alot of other hotels offer the same view though. Do not go by the pictures and just for the view. Would not recommend.

Friends, carefully review the room type you're booking. We booked a room two months in advance, and it was $40 per night. Upon arrival, we were offered a separate room—an egg, they said! The space was cramped, it was cold, and the price was simply outrageous! We were naturally outraged, because there was no information about the egg when we booked; the photos were of a regular room in the main building! Basically, the photos and description are inaccurate. The hotel only offered to upgrade us for an additional fee, and Trip.com even offered $10 compensation—it's simply ridiculous! A complete scam!

The room has a vintage style and the view is as advertised. The bathroom is spacious, but has some strange elements. Overall, the bed in the bedroom is comfortable, but the atmosphere is retro. There's a 7-Eleven in front of the hotel, so those without a car will have to walk, which is quite dark. The location is suitable for those with a car because it's a long walk from Kaguchi-ko station. The breakfast is varied and well-serviced. There's a shared kitchen with a microwave and ice available, but no ice bucket to take up to the room. The staff weren't very service-minded. Some didn't speak English. The Indian male staff member mocked our accent. The Indian female staff member was very helpful. The Japanese staff seemed uninterested in guests, especially on the day we arrived early. They left us waiting to talk and didn't seem very welcoming. We probably wouldn't return. Overall, the hotel itself is good, but the staff needs improvement. The snacks provided in the room were delicious, so much so that we bought some to take home.

Service is okay. There are quite some rules you need to follow in the hotel.
