About this hotel

Pullman Dali is located on Erhe South Road in Xiaguan Town, 3 km from the railway station and 14 km from Dali Airport. Nearby are Erhai Lake cruises, a marble crafts museum, and Erhaiyue wetland park.

The hotel sits in the city center by the waterfront, surrounded by restaurants and cafés. Lake-view rooms offer a wide panorama, and staff (housekeeper Cindy, butler Avalor) earn praise for being proactive and attentive, especially with guests traveling with elderly relatives and children. There's an outdoor pool and a bar, and breakfast is varied.

Who it's for: travelers who want a reliable branded five-star hotel with an Erhai Lake view right in the city center — one of the leading hotels in Dali for those who prefer a brand name over a boutique guesthouse.

To be fair: a few serious reviews point to a mismatch between the booked room category and what was actually provided (no bathtub, smaller floor area), and to formal, scripted butler service when it came to individual requests. There was also a genuinely concerning case — a family member's stomach upset after dinner at the hotel restaurant. Some complaints mention outdated bathroom plumbing. Impressions vary a lot, so for specific requests (view, bed type) it's worth confirming directly with the hotel.

Service was very good and proactive, the food was decent too, but the toilet in the bathroom could use an update, it's a bit awkward and dated. I'll consider this hotel again next time, recommend it to everyone, especially room 03 on each floor.

Housekeeper Cindy was very attentive and warm. The hotel is perfectly located, which was very convenient for me since I was traveling with elderly relatives and kids. The outdoor pool and bar left a very pleasant impression. The room was comfortable and clean, and breakfast was fairly varied.

The Pullman hotel is excellently located, with a view of Erhai Lake. Rooms are clean, tidy, fully equipped, warm and cozy. Service from Avalor was attentive and responsive, always ready to help. Rooms are clean and well equipped.

Dali is essentially a mature market for guesthouses and boutique hotels, but this time I chose a branded hotel. Pullman is currently one of the leading hotels in Dali (I originally wanted the recently opened Dali EDITION, but it was opening a few days later). Overall, the details are very good. The hotel is located in the city center, near the waterfront, surrounded by restaurants and cafés. For around 1000 yuan, with mini-bar drinks (though the selection isn't huge), there's evening turndown service, the shower is set to the side against the wall, free parking, and the elevator opens right into the lobby. These little things are quite pleasant. Of course, there are downsides too: the scale's batteries weren't replaced in time, breakfast was varied and tasty but there's no table-escort service. Overall, the hotel is very good, and butler Coco deserves a mention for being very attentive and helpful, quickly resolving all my issues. It was a trip to remember… Haven't left a review in a while, but felt like sharing my impressions right away…

The hotel is conveniently located, and the sea-view room offers a wide view of the ocean. Every day the scenery was simply gorgeous. Also very easy to get to the airport. Breakfast was good too, with a wide selection and pleasant taste.

What they complained about

The negative comments concern two people. First, the receptionist, Doris, asked me about afternoon tea. I said I didn't need it, and she said it was free and mentioned the lovely view from above. It rained almost all day on the 26th, thick fog. Four sunny days, and she decided to ask me on the worst possible day. Can I not afford afternoon tea or the room? Why was she so sarcastic? The only reason I stayed at this hotel was the bad weather. She lacked even basic courtesy and didn't even apologize. Second, the rooftop bartender, a heavyset woman, was very impatient when I asked about reservations and which tables didn't require a minimum order. She looked down on me. Only after I looked back at her did her attitude improve. Also, the staff member turning down the room for the night walked in just three seconds after knocking. I hadn't even had time to open the door before she came in. What was she in such a hurry for? Cleanliness needs improvement.
